Injectable Treatments: Botox & Filler Injections > Buying Restylane cheaper overseas?

I recently spoke to some folks who purchase their Restylane from Bulgaria for almost half the price as it is in the US. They say it's the same as we use here, same packaging, etc. I know Botox can only be purchased from Allergan but what about Restylane? Anyone else import it? I'm a little skeptical so want to hear others input.
An update is you can get it from Canada for about $60 less per syringe. That's the best deal I've come across.
Can you give us the name of this Canadian distributor?

Any online canadian pharmacy sells it.

Restylane now goes for as low as $145 on a good quantity, but you can get it regularly from canada at about $190 from wholesale companies on orders under 50pcs.

cheers

not too sure about the legal issues...far as i know FDA says its not legal to import but they do allow small quantities of Botox, Restylane, hyalgan etc.. Our clinic orders several products from Canada. so far we have had no problems with the FDA or concerns regarding their products. they are a licensed pharmacy so even if you had problems, you could report them technically.

You can look on line and get very good prices but of course company says that they won't stand behind that product. I don't understand as it is still THEIR product. Maybe the drug rep just won't stand behind it. That being said, if you order enough Restylane you do get a pretty good price if you factor in rebates free syringes you might bargain for etc. I have not done as well with Allergan rep and prefer ordering the Juvederm via Canada

Once had a Canadian restylane shipment denied by customs. Since then, we've only bought from U.S. I agree with dermmom, if you order enough and have a good relationship with your rep, you will do well with the promotions, free syringes, etc. We no longer carry Restylane. Our Juvederm and Radiesse reps have both sponsored events for us, and have been quite generous with employee syringes, promotional syringes, etc. I have not heard of counterfit filler but other foreign drugs, such as Liptior, have been found to be "fake". The only reason we were getting product from Canada in the beginning was because we had a personal contact (physician) who was selling us part of their inventory. Don't know if I'd risk buying from an unknown source.

Beaware of counterfit filler. Counterfit meds are a big problem in Asia and European countries. Back then I was only aware of counterfit Viagra, Cialis, Levitra meds. Now there are counterfit hypertensive medications such as Norvasc, cholesterol meds such as lipitor, Laboratory grade Botox for lab research mice and counterfit Restylane / Radiesse are also a problem in today's market. A police raid in China last year discovered a factory printing counterfit boxes and packaging for the above medication. Who knows how much of those meds were consumed and sold throughout the world. Patients will come back and pursue the physician for bad medical outcomes. IT is not worth taking a risk with counterfit drugs. Your medical license and reputation is on the line.

My malpractice insurance forbids me from buying from vendors outside of the US. Does anyone known of any US wholesale vendors similar to the Canadian distributors who supply Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse at lower cost than directly through Allergan, Medicies, etc?

"MT" and "Not Saying" need to get off this forum. Spamming the forum and clearly spreading non-sense lies is a little bit sickening. I have never in my 20 years heard of insurance telling you where you can and can't purchase your meds from. They have told me that the products must be FDA approved etc., but never where to buy them from. Also, there is no law that says you can't buy from Canada or any other country, assuming that the products are in fact legitimate and FDA approved.

Allergan and Medicis reps need to somehow be weeded out and removed from this MEDICAL SPA PROFESSIONAL'S ONLY FORUM. This is not the place for self promotion or for steering professionals away from profits as a result of your greed.

I must say from the outset that I am not a Medical Spa Professional but I wanted to echo 'Misa B.' comment that there is no regulation around where medical professionals can order their products from. Our company which is a Swiss licensed wholesaler has been supplying prescription medicines and devices to medical professionals in the US for over 5 years. We have not had any shipments seized either.
We are interested in this forum as we can provide a wide selection of cosmetic injectable products and other treatments for professionals at very good prices. Please contact me if you have any queries.
