Cosmetic IPL Laser Reviews & Comparisons > New laser device

I am looking for a new multi functional machine that can do IPL, Laser hair removal with a Diode or similar and ND Yag or similar. I have been using a Lumenis One with IPL, Diode and ND Yag hand pieces. Any ideas? BTW, I am in Canada, so I would need servicing available in Canada. Thank you.

Syneron emax or elos plus,
3 yr warranty
The learning curve is steep but once you master the skills, you get amazing result.
The elos plus has the sublative, very handy and predictable result.

r.cox, I think that what you're using is very good. Personally, I think that Lumenis machines are some of the best out there.

Yes it has been good for us, but buying the new filters and repairs are very expensive!!

Hello r.cox, I am in Ontario. I have been using Synerons Emax( ipl/810 diode) for 5yrs now, no consumables other than the gel. It is very reliable and effective (all skin types) service in Canada. I have worked with Palomar and Candela (skin types 1-3 only) in the past. Emax has been great. Unfortunately repairs on any laser are expensive!

Try Cynosure Elite MPX.

I have used various systems and I would suggest you look at one that truly has no consumables, has lots of power, adjustable temperature and multiple spot sizes and Canadian support. So, I would recommend Sciton. Their BBL platform is the best out there and you can add a Yag or Alex or Fractional Erbium if you have the treatment need.

Does anyone know if a Alma Harmony Light is any good?

Go with Sciton! It is an extremely reliable workhorse!

Lumenis one is the best choice. A good team IPL and Light Sheer Diode better. I work with Epilight for 16 years and later with Quantum Lumenis, two great teams that have given me very good results.

A reminder since the introduction of Lasers mainly the mechanism of delivery between the laser system and the patient has changed. Emphasis must be placed on ease of use, and after sales support at an affordable cost per procedure. Working with a true technology partner will bring the right info to you. Take away the smoke and mirrors and see the real difference. It's really what makes a clinic successful.

I have used Candela, Cynosure, Lumenis one and Sciton for many years. But I find the Cynosure Elite line and Candela to be my top choices. The Elite with the 15mm spot size has always been great have not ha any problem with getting large areas done in a safe and timely fashion.

Harmony XL has got this new head AFT light system that is really good for hair removal especially but for every other condition you have to buy a different head that I find rather expensive and not practical

03.3 | Unregistered Commenterburgett

It's still an overpriced IPL.

What do you think of the Sciton BBL? Or the Alma XL? Or the Starlux 500? Which out of the three has the best results, without out a lot of issues or expense?

Go with Sciton's BBL and you don't regret it.It is the best system out there!! No need to pay for service repairs and a very reliable and flexible system.

03.4 | Unregistered Commentercharry

Going with a BBL, hope its as good as everyone says it is!

03.6 | Unregistered Commenterr.cox

You are making a great decision. The Sciton is great and will go and go with little problem and no consumables as the heads go well over millions of pulses. Honestly, I see hair removal dropping off as more home devices come into market so skin rejuvenation is the future. They have an amazing study by Dr. Bitter entitled "Forever Young" that demonstrates the long term 10 year effectiveness of BBL. It is worth every penny.
