IPL & Laser Treatments > Sciton settings for hair removal

I'm a new Esthetician and going to be doing BBL hair removal treatments. The sciton guide gives me ranges for the settings. How do I know which ones to use? I did the laser on my own armpits, using the 640 filter at 25 j/cm and 20 pulse width at 10 cooling. I'm a Fitzpatrick 3 the hair was super short and did not burn. So did it not work? How do you know if it worked or not? Please help

Hi Katie

If you have fine brown colour hair and they didn't burn change the settings.First of all reduce the pulse width to 10-15 msec and of course reduce the Fluence. If it isn't work change the filter to 590nm.

I too am new to the BBL for hair removal. I've gotten mixed responses from other providers as to the endpoint. Should I see sparking as with lasers? How do you treat the hair and not affect pigment? Should the entire area be erythemic and if so how long is "normal"?

Thank you

Erl.. are you guys operating under the supervision of a physician? Are you in the US? (I'm aware that many/most of this sites readers are not in the US is why I'm asking.)
