Medical Spa Business Forum > How to become medical director for nurse in MA

I am an OB/GYN that does Botox/ fillers outside of my practice for a separate LLC business. I have been approached by a nurse who needs "a medical director" to cover her at home injection business. Does anyone have sample document/ contract to provide ? Thanks.

I think that this site actually has a sample contract that you might be able to modify... Might be under free deals. If not, you might email them. I'm pretty sure that I've seen an example of that. (Hope that helps.)

Most insurance/liability carriers have stepped away--- far far away from covering "Botox parties" or any other medical procedure not conducted in an appropriately licensed facility. Second- you are putting your license on the line with this type of scenario. In most states a non-physician cannot "hire" a physician for medical spa services-this is the corporate practice of medicine and not allowed in most cases. How could you supervise such an arrangement?

Please check with the BORN and the BORM. You are not appropriately Boarded to be the medical director of a nurse doing injectables and your nurse can not do injectables in a location that is not licensed as a clinic by the DPH and needs someone to write the orders for each treatment. You would both be putting your licenses at risk with the proposed business model, not to mention liability issues as any incident would be negligence per se. Lastly, as medical director you have certain duties and if all goes wrong the nurse could sue you for indemnification for fraudulently providing the service of medical director despite not being authorized to do so. Similarly, patients could also hit you both with a 93a violation of MA consumer protection laws.
