I know of one MD who is trialing using ProFractional for tatoo removal, results not yet in. It has to be done at the highest/i.e. deepest setting with a block.

When removing tattoo's only use a Q-switched Nd-yag laser. They have the highest power with the lowest amount of complications and they have been used for tattoo removal for over 14 years. I would look at Lutronic and Hoya ConBio. Do not try other devices for tattoo removal it will only end up with problems. I have seen way to many people trying to use IPL's and other thermal lasers to try this with horrible scarring results. The Q-switched lasers use photoacoustic energy in the nanosecond pulse range to safely remove the tattoo's.

The endless search for the perfect tattoo removal technique. This week I was told of someone using the Fraxel 1540 one week before having patient return to be treated with an Alex. Treatments 2 months apart. Thoughts?
Jeff, when you met to discuss issues in tattoo removal did you come up with some “pearls of wisdom”?
