Medical Spa RX: Canada Botox hits a new milestone.

Medical Spa RX has had it's first physician who has reordered Botox 5 times. In fact, there are a number of them. Woot!

Oddly enough, I consider 5 reoders of Botox significantly significanly more impressive than only 4. (I don't know why. Perhaps because Medical Spa RX has only been offering Botox for the last 4 months so 5 orders would be more than monthly.)

Medical Spa RX has been shipping orders for something on the order of 4 months now so 5 orders is telling me that we've got a number of physicians who switched to Medical Spa RX very shortly after we launched it and have been using it exclusively. (My clincs usually orded Botox or Restyland monthly so that's where my logic lies.)

We've been extremely diligent in makeing sure that Medical Spa MD Members are being taken care of by Medical Spa RX and as far as I'm aware we've never yet had a single complaint about the service or product.

I should note here that Medical Spa RX and Medical Spa MD are completely different. Medical Spa RX is Select Partner who offers exclusive services to our Members. (Any technology provider or service company who can provide meaningfull value to our Members is welcome to apply.)

For those physician or medical spa Members who have not yet ordered your Botox through Medical Spa RX and are in a position to do so, I'd highly recommend giving them a chance by placing a small test order of whatever you use most, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm of Dysport.

Also, if you haven't heard about the group buy option, there's nothing like it to harness buying power.

I just received my order of 2 vials of Botox from Medical Spa Rx. We had been ordering about 12 vials/month from Allergan. Even at the highest price (ordering < 5 vials). I am saving $145 per vial! I anticipate decreasing my Allergan order and supplementing it with the Canadian products. I'd like to keep my status on the Botox website and the perks from my rep but how can I NOT save $145 per vial on at least part of my stock.

My other concern is what to do about the rebate program and the new Botox rewards program. I don't envision having a problem if continue a substantial order through Allergan. If you only order through MedicalSpa Rx, can your patients participate in the rebates and rewards programs? What about the Medicis rebates and rewards programs? I also order some Restylane with lidocaine (not FDA approved here yet) so can my patients use this for their Restylane rewards program.

Has anyone had any negative consequences from U.S. Allergan or Medicis over their purchases from MedicalSpa Rx?

@ under the radar: Glad to see your comment. I also placed an order and was thrilled to finally be in a situation where I could actually make a few dollars on my Botox treatments. Were in a hyper-competitive area and pricing has been pushed down to where our Botox is almost a loss-leader. Saving $1,500 or so a month goes right to our bottom line.

I'm sure that your Allergan rep would be extremely unhappy to see you ordering from anyone other than them. I'd stay under the radar too. I'm putting my money on the 'no rebates and rewards', but to be honest, I'm just so much better off that that's a small price to pay.

I was wondering the same thing. I used a restylane syringe ordered from medicalsparx today and gave the box tab for the pt. to mail in for the restylane rebate. Now I wonder if this will cause a problem with her restylane rewards points. can anyone answer this?

Wondering if anyone got any clarity on whether or not the medicalsparx products would still be eligible for the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions or the Medicis Dysport Challenge points/rebates?

Also wondering if any of the doctors/RN's using the medicalsparx products are disclosing to patients that they are receiving Canadian products? Any legal ramifications if there is an adverse reaction?

why allergan usa costs more than the canadian allergan?
I just dont get it. Why there is such a big differences in prices?
Can anyone please kindly clarify ?

I tell clients that the product I use on them are made by the company in question and that I scour the internet to find them the best price available so I can pass the savings on to them. None have specifically asked where I get it from and I do make a point of showing them the hologram so the can be safe in the future if they aren't getting treatment from me.

Arthur,

The difference in cost for cosmetic stuff is the same as any other product. It's what the market will hold. I purchased a solar panel for my camper once and just in conversation was told by the seller that if I lived in Europe it would have been half the price. Something about us in the US not buying enough to make it worth while to sell them here, so the few people who needed them were willing to pay more just to get them.
