Minimally invasive procedures such as botulinum toxins, fillers and thread liftings are becoming the most popular procedures in aesthetic clinics in Asia today. These procedures have several distinct advantages compared to surgery such as shorter treatment time, faster recovery time and reasonable fees.

In spite of these advantages, minimally invasive procedures have a negative aspect. Unlike surgery, minimally invasive procedures are blind procedures.

Therefore, when doctors perform minimally invasive procedures, they should put a stronger emphasis on the safety.

Recently, several cases related to the fatal side effects of minimally invasive procedures were reported in medical and news articles, such as blindness and cerebral infarction.

Therefore, before beginning these procedures, it is essential to keep in mind the anatomical structures because most side effects related to minimally invasive procedures have close relationships with the anatomical structures such as the vessels, nerves and muscles.

There are slight differences in the anatomy between Asians and other ethnic groups. But these slight differences can make a significant difference in the results.

Hence, GALAA conference’s goal is to share the clinical and anatomical knowledge focused particularly on Asian patients. Through these courses, we believe that we can decrease the side effects and obtain maximum results.

For this purpose, GALAA conference was established on Oct, 2015.

GALAA will continue to study and research not only on Asians but also other ethnic groups in the field of the minimally invasive procedures through continuous productive conferences
